Manipur Vidhan Sabha Election 2017 Schedule - Poll dates and Result date

Located in east edge of India, the state of Manipur is all set for Manipur Assembly Elections 2017. The term of current legislative assembly of Manipur is expiring on 18th March 2017 and has been officially declared to conduct elections by Dr. Nasim Zaidi the chief commissioner of Election Commission of India. Small in size, 60 Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) forms Manipur Assembly.

Political Parties in Manipur

The Indian National Congress (INC), Trinamool Congress (TMC), Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Bharatiya Janata Party are the Major pollitical parties in Manipur.

Since the last state Assembly elections of Manipur in 2012, congress won 42 seats and Okram Ibobi Singh was once again the chief minister of Manipur. Manipur State Congress party along with their five seating MLAs joined the ruling congress in 2014 making Congress tally in the Assembly of 47 seats.
